We're getting siding!

The workers are beginning to install the cement-fiber siding. A few rows above the windows, you can see that in some places it is going to look like shingles. Other places it looks like plain boards. The man with the vertical piece is getting ready to attach the structure that will be used to raise and lower a work platform that will be attached to the building.

After being gone on vacation for two weeks, the blogger and the photographer were delighted to see the progress on the new apartments. Stairs, roof, glass in the windows, and siding all have appeared! In photo three you can see the beginnings of the covered unloading area outside of the community room. Roof trusses are on!

Picture one is taken from the construction trailer. This is what the apartments will look like from the new Bertner Avenue. The two rectangles that protrude slightly from the building are architectural elements. The apartments will not jut out into that space. The windows are in the bedrooms. The green building is the community room/office. You can see the entrance door. The furthest right window is the office window. Picture three is another view of the apartment building from the first picture. You can see the roof trusses on top. You can also see the east windows of the green building. (Of course, you realize that the building will not be the color green when finished!) The last picture shows the courtyard area and both apartment buildings.
