What a view!

Picture one shows the great
view, looking toward the medical center, from the fourth floor walkway between the east and west apartment buildings. (By the way, this walkway on the fourth floor will be the only smoking area on campus. It is hoped that the breezes will quickly disperse the smoke.) Building A, in front of the trees, will be demolished as soon as we can get a temporary occupancy permit for the community room building and can move the office and all of the apartment items from A into the new building. We're hoping that this move will happen in early to mid- September.

Picture two shows the ceiling in the community room. As soon as there is air conditioning in the building, the ceiling tiles will be installed. (If they are installed before the air conditioning, they will sag due to Houston humidity.)

Picture three shows some of the cabinets in the new pantry.

Picture four shows work progress in one of the apartment kitchens. Finally, apartment stove fans will exhaust outside and not just recycle air inside the apartment. To the left of the exhaust fan pipe, you can see the closet for the air conditioning unit. To the left of it is the area for the built-in desk. To the left of it, you can see where the electric panel box will go, just inside the bedroom.

Picture five shows the dumpster area. The dumpster will sit in the area of the gate shadow. Guest access to the dumpster will be through the door (dark rectangle) to the right of the wall at the back. The area will be fenced with a wooden fence, so that the dumpster will not be seen from the road, with a double gate for the garbage company to have access. One post will protect the air conditioning unit for the community room (on the left) and another the electrical boxes which will be on the right.

Pictures six and seven are together so that you can get an idea of the paint scheme chosen by the architect. The first paint color on the left, will be used on the lapped siding and on all trim. In this picture, the siding goes up to the top of the door opening (bottom left). The second color from the left goes on the shingles (above the siding). The third color goes on the panel siding (protruding rectangle between the windows) and on the fascia and soffits. The last color goes on the apartment doors.
